Mike – Life just makes more sense when I’m on my bike

Some of the fondest memories of my childhood were of riding with my dad, venturing out to parks and playgrounds, my young mind so very excited about the sudden expansion of my outside world, my first taste of what pure freedom felt like…

Bikes have pretty much always been a big deal for me for as long as I can remember.  I grew up on 2 wheels, riding and racing BMX, then Mountain Bikes as a young adult in the early 90s, eventually adding Road, Cyclocross and even Track.  After close to 30 years of racing I have since retired from the competitive side of the sport.  Riding for me now is all about adventure, discovery, being outside, in the moment, paying attention to the fine details of the experience.  I ride outside year round.  Mostly alone.  Never lonely.  Life just makes more sense when I’m on my bike.

I’m Mike.  Canadian.  Husband.  Father.  Dog lover.  Meditator.  Yogi.  Minimalist.  Seeker.  Tea and kombucha drinker.  Sexual abuse survivor.  Lifelong cyclist.

Honored to be part of the Solitude Seekers CC.
